If
you have to filter Extruded polymer and you do not want to stop the
process for cleaning, try the Kleen-Screen®
FROM WELDING ENGINEERS LTD.
ADVANTAGES:
|
Contaminants
removed from extruder screens during continuous operation. |
|
Extruder can be started up or purged without passing material
through
screens or die. |
|
Screens need to be changed only occasionally, and without interruption
of the filtering process. |
|
Screens can be inspected, or mesh changed, without interrupting
extrusion operation |
|
Screens "regeneration" possible by back-flush without
interruption of the filtering process. |
HOW THE
KLEEN-SCREEN WORKS FOR YOU
The
Kleen-Screen is not a screen changer but an apparatus for cleaning
extruder screens.
It can be applied, and profitably so, to every extrusion operation not
involving extremely heat sensitive thermoplastics.
It totally eliminates loss of product due to screen changing. Simply
turn a valve and clean your screens by back-flushing, without
interrupting your extrusion operation.
Screens need to be changed only occasionally.
If you want to change your screen mesh for some reason, this can be done
rapidly without interrupting your extrusion operation.
After an overnight stoppage, for example, you can purge your extruder of
degraded material without passing it through the screens or through the
die.
There are no more hold-up points in the Kleen-Screen than in many
extrusion die designs.
The pressure drop caused by the Kleen-Screen is no greater than that
caused by conventional screens.
The back-flushing operation lasts only a few seconds. Since only a
slight percentage of material is diverted, the degree to which your
extruder product will be off-gauge is in most cases negligible.
The Kleen-Screen valving system is carefully designed to eliminate all
hazards of shutting off the flow and thereby damaging the extruder
